How do I assign a timer to the Apple Watch complication?

On the Apple Watch app screen, press firmly until a button with a gear icon appears and tap it. From that Settings view you will find an option to change what happens when you tap the complication.

What can’t I see the timer status in real-time on the watch complication?

While the native Apple Watch Timer app can do this, unfortunately third-party apps are limited with complications in many ways. The app can only update the complication so many times per day, and only with so many minutes between updates. Unless that changes, the app will never be able to show an active timer on the complication unfortunately.

Why don’t I get full-screen notifications like the stock Timer app?

Third parties can only make sound or vibrate while the app is open. If Another Timer is running, you should get a full-screen notification and sound/vibration. If the app is not currently active, you should still receive a standard notification every few seconds to try and emulate this behavior. These notifications are not infinite for third parties, however, so it will eventually stop notifying you too.

Why can’t I use the same ringtones as the stock Timer app?

For some reason Apple doesn’t seem to let third-parties have access to these sound files (but if you know otherwise please let me know!). If you’d like to contribute some better ringtones that are royalty-free and everything, I’m open to suggestion :)
